Archive for June, 2008

It was the 17th of June when I got here, now, it’s June 21st. Since I got here I have never gone out the house (not even my room). But I did visit Kuya Phillip’s son, Collin (he’s so cute) and we visited Auntie Linda’s mom… But I never really got out seeing places, which is perfectly fine with me. I’m a home buddy! Hehe! I like staying at home; I get to stay at home with the computer. Talk and chat with my friends, email my family (kahit di sila nag rereply! Haha!), search the net… simple lang naman ako eh! Hehe! But the reason I wrote this post is because Kuya Junjun and I went to the mall earlier and that is when reality bit me right up my — Oist! Wholesome oh! — (So, alam nyo na where reality bit me).

Anyway, ganito nangyari, Kuya Junjun asked me “Hey Dane, where do you want to go…?” blah… blah… blah… blah… blah… blah… and I answered blah… blah… blah… “Ok lang…” blah… blah… blah… so there, we ended up going to the mall! Nung nag park kami, nakakita ako ng Puti… No big deal, I’ve seen some Americans before… so wala lang. Pag pasok ng mall ang sumalubong agad sa akin eh Puti ulit! I told myself “dami nila ah…?” then nung nag lalakad na kami eh I noticed that I was surrounded by Americans! Then it suddenly came to me “shet! Nandito na nga pala ako!” I think my brain stopped functioning for 5 seconds just to grasp what I have discovered! Haha! After I took in what was happening eh I was laughing inside (I think I was smiling… I hope Kuya Junjun didn’t see me, nakakahiya) and I was shaking my head telling myself “ang tanga tanga mo!”… So I took a deep breath and gave a big sigh! Ayun, na absorb ko na ang katotohanan!

I can’t get over the fact that hindi nag sink in sa akin na wala na ako sa Pilipinas. So inisip ko kung bakit… And the reason that I came up with bakit di ko naiisip agad yun eh kasi puro Pilipino nakakasama ko. Flight ko eh Manila to LA eh puro Pinoy kasama ko, sa bahay Wowowee ang palabas, nung bumisita kami sa mga Kuya Philip at sa Nanay ng Auntie Linda eh Pinoy din sila… hmmm… See… a very logical explanation! (pag bigyan nyo na ako… ayoko matawag na tanga eh!) haha! Pero it also came to me that I have been a hermit for so long, ganito din ako sa Pilipinas… that is why I miss a lot.

It was my choice not to go out and explore… So I have to pay the price.

Well, it’s a lesson learned… I need to change. I need to go out… and PARTY! Woohoo! Haha! Joke lang… Joke lang! But I really have to go out though… as TL Jera would say “Ok, you go mingle…!

Coming back here was not easy… Yes, I have to consider our financial status if my mom can send me back. I have to consider my Uncle Poldo and Auntie Linda if I could stay there with them. I have to consider my readiness to leave my friends and family. I have to consider the immigration stuff, PT stuff, etc… etc… But never did I expect or consider these things that happened to me sa pag alis ko…

Well, this is the first time that I will be leaving alone, so I’m kinda excited and nervous at the same time. So my family… my family was… they was the one… they… (I really can’t get that sentence right; I have to ask MissWorld!) haha! Anyway, hinatid nila ako sa airport… said their good bye’s (I almost cried back there…). Anyway, I really don’t know what to do first so I did the most logical thing I can think of… I asked like a probinsyanong nawawala sa Maynila! Haha! “Kuya, pagkatapos ng inspection saan po ako pupunta?” “Ate, pagkakuha ko ng boarding pass saan ako sunod?” “Manong, pagkatatak nito ano na pagkatapos?” Haaay! Ang daming proseso! Until finally its time to board! So I was looking for my seat… 45… 46… woohoo 47E! Then I saw my seat and it was in between 47D and 47F! Hate it! Kailangan ko pa mag “excuse me po!” Just to go the rest room! So I sat… then this maldita girl sat beside me on my left (47D) and a fat snoring lady on my right (47F)! I hate my seat! I was with them for 12hrs or so… True enough, I said “excuse me po” maybe 5 times. Hate it! Anyway, we had 2 full meals and 2 meriendas when we were on the plane. In short, nagka dyspepsia ako! Haha! My tummy was rounded and hard! If you flick it you’ll say “parang tambol lang ah…” . Good thing we landed on time! I was excited ‘cuz I can use the bathroom! BUT I need to be cleared for immigration (AGAIN!) and this time patayan na! So I was tired, constipated and nervous when the consul interviewed me… He was asking me stuff like my purpose of going there and all that! (Pressure!) But it went smoothly… Until his computer hanged! So I need to go back in line and do the interview AGAIN! So, yun nalampasan ko na ang immigration and customs. In short I’m home! But my day did not stop there… So, I was about to unpack my luggage… I entered 0-0-0 on the lock… To my surprise it wouldn’t open! I know its 0-0-0! It’s my luggage for crying out loud! I was furious and angry while I was forcing it to open! My index fingernail chipped (sagad hanggang laman) because I was forcing it to open! My efforts were wasted… buti nalang I have extra clothes sa hand carry ko… so I freshened up and calmed down… Again, I did the most logical thing I can think of… Inisa isa ko yung number… 0-0-0… 0-0-1… 0-0-2… so on and so forth! At last it opened… Guess what’s my luggage combination…? Its 9-0-0! Believe it or not… inisa isa ko yun! Hehe! What a day it was! Buti nalang ngayon eh my luck has changed!

Anyway, that was just a day in my life… Kayo, ano nangyayari na sa inyo? Hope to hear from you guys!

My last entry about us being transferred to another account fortunately did not happen. To make the long story short, we fought for our right… and we won! Woohooo! (Except for Tracie and Jay Mag…) Aaahw!

Well, anyway, my post will begin after the reshuffling happened. Hmmm… as far as I can remember, after the news about the transferring broke many of the agents, including our wave mates, planned to resign. (Can’t blame them…) So resignation letters piled up like term papers waiting to be graded! hehe!

Anyway, this entry will serve as a dedication page to my wave mates (and
special mentions).

MARSHA: The prettiest, meanest, most irate agent I’ve ever worked with! BUT
she’s the prettiest, meanest and most irate friend I have! haha! She maybe mean and all but she always have the best intentions for you! (Actually she’s not THAT mean… medyo lang!)

JOY: The Mutya ng Imus… A southern belle! Soft spoken, gentle and meek…
Ok, enough about me, let’s talk about Joy! haha! But seriously, she’s all of
that but one of the things I love about Joy is she stands up for her decisions
and if her decisions fail, she finds a way to turn it around to her
advantage… She’s a very bright girl! I like that in a woman… Rrrrr! haha!

PAM: Pam… Pam… Pam… What can I say… she’s Pam! I’ve never seen a
girl like her… It’s like she is a woman possessed by a gay ghost or maybe
she’s just simply a gay guy… I dunno! But one thing for sure is… she’s sooo
gay!

TZIE: A very sweet and simple girl with big dreams! But she doesn’t only
dream big… she makes it come true! Tzie, kala ko magiging classmate tayo sa
med school… Unfortunately I need to go my own way to achieve my dreams! Ei,
stay sweet, simple and always aim high!

MANUEL: Haaay! Manuel! He is a very complicated person! This will be a
very long post if I’ll write everything down and explain why. So to sum it
up… He’s easy to love but hard to maintain! He’s like a dog (na may breed!)
haha! Pero napaka swerte ng mamahalin nito. He’s so loyal, so caring and sweet! Knowing Manuel, mag mamahal ‘to ng buong puso (naks!)… Hmmm… yeah… tama nga… parang aso lang!

***Jay, simple reminder… Iwas chikinini para iwas intriga ah!?! NO EOF! ;)

LEA: Petite figure, irresistible sexy body, gorgeous looks, flawless skin and oozing with sex appeal… An epitome of a woman! Lea is God’s gift to men! (Lea, pasok mo na lang sa account ko yung bayad mo for writing this for you… Thanks!)

Kidding aside, Lea is actually just an average girl (average meaning, all that
was written above are not true!) but what made this girl stand out is her genuine concern for you! Hmmm… You know what? I think she really is God’s gift to men… or… to me at least.

ARA: Ara is a smart girl with lots of stories to tell. Ask her what is Systemic
Lupus Erythematosus? She’ll tell you its meaning, epidemiology and management PLUS she’ll also tell you which celebrity has it! Lupet diba!?!She’s not chismosa… she’s just updated with everything.

NEF: I’m a lover, not a fighter… so I always take Nef with me to
protect me! Hehe!Yes, she is aggressive and boyish in nature but she can be
very ladylike if she wants to (again… IF she wants to!) haha! Seriously, Nef will be there for you if you need her. And I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that she can and will sacrifice herself for you!

DENNIS: This guy is as stubborn as a heap of rock! No means no and yes
means I want it by hook or by crook! But underneath that stubborn image that he is portraying (is he just portraying?) he is a gentle soul! He is nice, reliable, caring, giving, and understanding… He rarely shows it but he is… (who am I kidding!?!) He really is a nice guy… (hahaha!) In fairness to him eh at least he is nice to me…

KRIS: Kris and I always share non-sense stories like “mananaggal in APAC”, “lalaking foreigner na nasa Jaipur na nakabukaka”, “ang walang kamtayang medley sa McDonald’s”, “ang mirakulong langis ni El Shadai na amoy Eucalyptus!”… Haaay! Time flies kapag ganito ang kwentuhan! I miss those times.

JAY (MAGBOO): Ala eh! Kamusta na ba ire diy-an!?! Ako nam-a’y mabuti dine! (ang hirap! woooh!) So How’s Magnolia (his daughter’s yaya)? I heard she left you… (MIA daw ah…?) Haaay! So sad, because of her you need to resign! Anyway, keep that jolly atmosphere around you. You don’t know it but your smile is very contagious; it makes other people smile as well.

ARDEE: Ardee, my soul searching buddy! Ei, just remeber that you can face your problem with a smile! Donut lang ang katapat ng problema natin! haha! Ei, stay strong Ardee! Thanks for the very wonderful gift that you gave me. It’s very heart warming… Pag dating mo dito
eh let’s not soul search anymore… ayaw ko na ng problema… Let’s search
something else… ;)

LANI: Probably most of you always see Lani sleeping and eating! But she is more than that, she is madaldal (while eating La-La), she is mabait (while sleeping), she is mapagbigay (ng La-La), and she is madasalin (‘cuz I always see her quietly sitting still and eyes closed) or maybe she’s just sleeping! Haha! But she really is makwento, mabait, mapagbigay and reliheyosa… Here is the reason why I consider her reliheyosa… “cuz she has this panata in Church that she will be the Hermana Mayor/Reyna Elena. She always goes to Church to dance and offer flowers. And get this… You’ve heard about the “Flores de Mayo” right? But have you heard “Flores de Abril”? San ka pa!?! Kay Lani Lang yun! She is the Herman Mayor of their “Flore de Abril”.

RAQUEL, IYA, MAROSE: Hey girrrls! Kamusta na girrrls!?! I hope you are doing fine girrrls! I just want to tell you guys that these girrrls are very sweet girrrls. Sweet in a sense na kukurutin ka nila, hahampasin pag natutuwa sayo, lalaitin in a “nice way”, may kasama pang discrimination in the workplace… hmmm… stuff like that! Anyway, stay “sweet” and I’m sure you’ll have lots of friends who know how to tae kwon do (para patas lang pag nanakit kayo)! Go girrrls! Luvyah girrrls! Hugs…

But seriously… I miss my girls!

As for those still working for APAC (for how long…?)

CHRIS: Chris is one of the best guys I’ve ever met. He’s funny, charming sa mga driver ng van and ma-boka! But the best thing I like about him is that he has this talent of knowing if you are bothered and he can make you feel better… (what a freak) anyway, yeah, he’ll know if I’m disturbed and we’ll start talking and suddenly I will feel enlightened about my situation. I dunno, sometimes kasi magulo utak ni Chris so nonsense talaga ang lumalabas sa kanya but still I feel better after we talk… Thank you Tsong!

EHMJHEI: She gives balance in to your life. When you’re down and troubled she’ll make you feel blessed by saying things like “buti ka nga yan lang ang problema mo… ako nga bingi eh!”. When you’re happy she’ll make you feel bad by saying things like “ang saya mo ah… mamamatay ka din! Ulol!”. If you’re with her, your life is just perfect… so balanced… so plain and simple…

LU-ANN: If silent waters run deep, how deep is Lu-ann, balon? If you say you have the right to remain silent… I can tell you that Lu-ann is exercising her rights! If you say that you have to think before you speak then Lu-ann double checks or even triple checks what she’s gonna say. Get my point!?! Haha! Let me quote Pam when I say “stand up and be counted!”. And uhmmm… Lu-ann, don’t just stand up ok!?!

PAUL: This guy never fails to surprise me. There is always something new to learn from him. May it be Unicare updates (when I say updates I mean chisimis!), cooking techniques, trivia and even life’s problems and how to deal with’em. If you’ll spend time to talk to Paul definitely you’ll pick up something new to ponder. By the way, Paul makes the best chicken sisig!

ZHA: Zha, I am sorry I can’t write anything to you ‘cuz my blog is wholesome… I know its unfair kaya I’ll do my best… here it goes:

Zha is old… yun lang! thank you! (hahaha!)

pero kidding aside… if I am to describe Zha in one word (na hindi vulgar)…
that would be: ASIM! Yun na yun! Kayo na bahala kung ano ibig sabihin nun!

TRACIE: Tracie is like a cartoon character made flesh… It’s like her actions and words came from a comic book (Funny Komiks). You’ll never get bored when you’re with her… Lots of things to talk about and lots of funny moments… I miss those days! Haaay! Ei, here, I’ll share a phrase that always brightens my darkest days: “Sa Pag-ibig… Sa Pag-ibig… Mah-nohng… Sa Pag-ibig…” (repeat to fade) If you wanna know the story behind this eh you could ask Tracie! Haha!

Special mentions:

KATIE: I just want to thank you for everything that you have done for me… actually for all of us (wave 25). As a trainer you were there patiently teaching us the product (kahit na I always question the benefits), teaching us how to use the system (kahit na I question the system itself)… As a TL you were there looking after us when we were about to be transferred to a different account. You were never too busy for any questions or problems we may encounter. As a Queen Mother (Shet Baklang bakla! Queen Mother!), you were the reason I go to work everyday and you were there to motivate me to do my best. Haaay! Tama na ang drama! Basta I would like to thank you for everything! And you might ask yourself someday if you are a good TL… Well there is no doubt that you are a tough act to follow!

***P.S. ano ba gusto mo? Puti, Itim, Molato? Name it and it’s
yours! Haha! Basta paubaya mo na lang sa akin ang friend mo! Hahaha!

YSA: I never thought na magkikita tayo sa APAC… and it’s weird ‘cuz everytime nakikita kita eh I always see the Analiza I went with in high school! Same old laugh, the bubbly aura, and that sweet smile that makes me feel that I have a friend whom I can turn to. Thank you so much for making me feel safe and secured while working at APAC.

***By the way, I still have the Mickey Mouse pen you gave me
nung high school!

 JASON: Just wanna
say hi… HI! (hehe!)

***HI! (Ulit!) :)

Thank you. Wish you all the best!
