“If you smile, the world smiles with you” part 2: so F.O.B.ulous!

Anyway, there is this F.O.B. (fresh off the boat, as if ako hindi! Haha!) there na may book “Joke, Joke, Joke!” and he was reading it to us! He’s telling corny stupid jokes… He asked us “Anong puno ang di pwedeng akyatin?”. I looked at him and he saw me… He said “Aaaah! Alam ni Dane! Nangiti sya eh!” (I didn’t even moved a muscle! Anong pinag sasasabi nyang ngumiti ako!?!) in fairness… alam ko ang sagot… ang sagot eh nakatumbang puno! *NGAK!* But I kept the answer to my self… Umiling lang ako and smiled and said “di ko po alam!”
The jokes never stopped! I swear! NEVER! I wanna get up and leave the table but where would I go!?! So yun, other visitors came and syempre asking kung sino ako… But there was this one lady na natawa ako (as my friend Carla T. would say “STRIKING” sya) kasi I was talking to this old lady beside me. She was talking to me in English so it is just proper that I answer back in English right? Anyway, yun nga, there was this lady who said “Hi! Nice to see you!” gave me a beso… and rubbed my shoulders! “It’s so nice that you came!” and then I smiled and said “Yeah… hihi…!”. (Still rubbing my shoulders) She asked another lady “Sino ba ito?” thinking that I do not understand Tagalog… So I stretched out my hand to her and introduced myself… I said “Anak po ako ni… Pamangkin po ako ni…”. Surprised and embarrassed she just said “Kumain ka na hijo?”.
Well, Ok, eto na yung mga super corny F.O.B. jokes na naaalala ko:
* Anong sport ang linalaro ni Dracula? –BATminton! (Lame… kala ko SOCCER!) haha!
* Anong bangko ang ginagamit ni Dracula? –Blood bank
* Anong bulaklak ang elastic? –GOMAmela
* Anong gulay and studious? –kalaBASA
* Anong gulay ang hindi mo makita? –Gabi (dito ako na weirdo-han!) haha!
* Anong hayop ang paa ay nasa ulo? –Kuto
* Anong bansa and hindi sikat? –Laos
* Anong bansa ang humihingi ng halik? –Pakistan
Di ko na kaya alalahanin yung ibang jokes… sumasakit ang ulo ko sa sobrang corny! Hahaha! Pero on this one eh he kinda stepped on my superior intellect by his comment (superior intellect!) haha!
* Anong bansa ang malungkot tuwing Thanksgiving? –Turkey
Eto comment nya… “Ah eto di masasgot ‘to ni Dane kasi wala syang alam dito sa America!” What the…!?! musmos pa lang ako eh alam ko na na ang kinakain sa Thanksgiving eh turkey! And di ko kailangan makapunta sa America para malaman ko ano ang Thanksgiving and ano ang kinakain nila! (Galit oh! Affected oh!) haha! Wala yun… nagalusan lang naman ang aking pagka-tao! Haha!
I hope you like his jokes… kasi ako, ayaw ko…! kawawa naman! Kidding! J

typical pinoys who finally landed on USA. they think they know everything about the country’s history, tradition and culture. whats worse? feeling nila lahat ng mga bagong salta walang alam. haler. oh, especially the ones in LA. boo. panget sila. epal. and they call themselves family.

ive never heard the term fob (fresh off the boat) from the hispanics, only with the asian people since back in the days we had to ride a boat just to get to the US, not just the filipinos. sa mga mexicano kasi wetbacks ang tawag, kasi ang layo ng pinanggalingan nila at naglakad at tumakbo lang sila, kaya pawis na pawis mga likod heheheh, but yeah, its true. But the term fob basically means you just came into the US from your country taking with you your accent, style, way of living and so on and so forth. kahit matagal na ang pinoy dito sa US as long as they still have the accent and er’thing theyre still considered fobs
